Core Program Principles

A group of stakeholders comprising advocates, policy leaders, law enforcement, state department of corrections, formerly incarcerated women, and children of incarcerated parents came together to develop the first ever core-principals document that underlies effective and expansive program development of a parent-sentencing alternative. We appreciate the authors of this document and The Center plans to expand and add to the core principles.

Program Planning and Implementation Guide

The guide provided helps finalize program design prior to implementation. It is divided into five sections and one subsection: Program Goals, Program Team, Program Design (includes a Tribal specific section), Evaluation Plan, and Partner Agreements. The questions provided in the guide are crucial to understanding the design of your family-based alternative program.
